Pritish Nandy spreads fake news about Statue of Unity
In a major facepalm situation today, journalist and former Rajya Sabha member Pritish Nandy became a victim of fake news and it was ‘painful’ to watch.
Recently, a ten-year old photo of a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel started doing rounds on the Internet with a misleading claim that it is a photo of the recently inaugurated Statue of Unity.
According to Boom Live, the photo was of a very old statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which was inaugurated in 2008. But like many people on social media, Pritish Nandy also fell for the claim and ended up sharing the fake news.
