In what appears as an earnest drive to vouch for LGBT rights, educational institutes in Mumbai city have recently took initiatives in many ways to ensure LGBT rights and to encourage them for decent life with dignity.

In a similar feat, students of KJ Somaiya College of Engineering (KJSCE), Mumbai have been running a campaign through its social initiative programme, Parvaah, from January 11 for LGBT rights. The campaign will be ended on March 11, 2017.

Parvaah is a social initiative started by the students of KJ Somaiya College of Engineering (KJSCE), Mumbai, in 2015 and the students have been continuously organising campaigns in collaboration with the Humsafar Trust to address several social issues prevailing in the society.

The primary objective behind this mission is to undo the misconceptions the students and the society have perceived towards the LGBTs.

Some of the activities worth mentioning are performing short plays across shopping malls, metro stations, workshop, and film screening to create and spread awareness about the LGBT.

The student team also conducts question and answer session besides organising a petition to be signed by the students at the campus.
