After whether or not the Oppo Find 9 will ever arrive, it seems the next big question is: whether we’ll see it launching in H1 2017, or not? One of the biggest challenges the U.S. economy faces in 2017 is expected appreciation in the dollar, which, as everyone knows, will crush the many American companies that survive selling products overseas. The St. Louis Fed, studying the issue of how high-export firms fare against low-export firms in times of U.S currency gains, found that while the former group gets hit in the short term, the effect has tended to go away as time goes by. Though Williams said he raised his predictions for fiscal stimulus under a Trump presidency, his growth predictions landed well under many analyst estimates that put growth over the next…

One of the more useful online services for getting things done is IFTTT.com, which stands for If This, Then That. For example, if rain is the forecast for tomorrow, then send me an email. A new program for the Windows called Ellp (currently in beta) is kind of like IFTTT for the desktop. It can’t carry out the wide number of actions that IFTTT can, but Ellp doesn’t have to. This program is more about managing actions on your PC than interacting with online services—though it does have a few features that are straight out of the IFTTT playbook. At…

For the past couple years, Ottawa-based Nuvyyo has offered just one product, the Tablo DVR, which can record free over-the-air broadcasts and stream them to mobile devices, PCs, and streaming boxes. Now, the company is branching out with some new superpowers for the lowly TV antenna. At CES 2017, the company was showing off a DVR app for Android TV boxes, a tuner stick that streams live TV to other devices, and a “proof-of-concept” for storing recordings in the cloud.
