After a short delay, the Nougat update for the ZTE Axon 7 is finally rolling out and it brings Google Daydream compatibility. ZTE has as low as $50 its own VR headset. This makes the Axon 7 the cheapest way to get into Google’s VR ecosystem. Other supported phones include the Pixels and the Moto Zs, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro (which recently got the Daydream certification) and the Asus Zenfone AR (which isn’t on sale yet).
